- Reduce heat to low, cover with lid and let cook until he liquid has been absorbed, about 15 minutes!
- Remove pot from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and be in awe at the most perfect fluffy rice!

TIPS FOR THE BEST GARLIC BUTTER RICE
If you’ve been looking for an incredibly delicious and EASY rice recipe for a side dish, you’ve found it right here! Follow these tips to make sure it’s great:
- The recipe calls for chicken or vegetable broth, but you can use plain water. Make sure you use low sodium broth as your rice may come out too salty. If using regular broth, simply adjust the amount of salt you add.
- For best results, we recommend using long grain rice. You can also use Basmati or Jasmine.
- Don’t be tempted to uncover the rice while it’s cooking to take a peak. Leave the lid on to let the steam do its magic!
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Garlic butter rice can replace any plain rice as a side dish. Think a juicy piece of steak, lamb chops, chicken curry or our creamy Tuscan Chicken. Pile on some roasted veggies or greens and you’re good to go!
HOW TO STORE LEFTOVER RICE
Let rice cool to room temperature and transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Served the Garlic Butter Rice with Chili Garlic Butter Shrimp from Cafe Delites…yup..thank goodness both my husband and I love garlic! I used leftover plain rice from a Chineses take out dinner night. Steamed it to reheat. In separate frying pan sauteed garlic in butter, added to steamed rice seasoned with salt and pepper and fresh parsley using recipe measurements. Took take out rice to a higher level. My partner and I are Rangers, so more often on the road and in the bush. I usually make a rice salad for lunch on the move. I saw your recipe and decided to give it a try. Oh my golly! Delicious! Only problem was that partner took a spoon to it and I had to make another pot for the salad! This will be the go-to rice from now on. A million thanks for the recipe!

This recipe was outstanding! I made it last night along with the Garlic Butter Rice and the Naan. The only modification I made was with the heavy cream. I lost a lot of weight during the pandemic and don’t want to gain it back so I added chicken broth to the cream. It was still extremely creamy and thick. My husband loved it too. Will definitely be making it again. Thank you! I am a follower now because all three things came out amazing!

Only make my rice this way now. I use corriander instead of parsley for Indian dishes and parsley for milder dishes. My 12 year old daughter loves it so win win. I used vegetable stock (salty enough) and cut back on the extra salt. Like the author says, you can have this as a dish on its own. Just add some peppers or chicken left overs or both. The trickiest part was removing the rice from the heat after approx. 15 minutes but moist or dry its still good. I have even eaten it cold and it’s still delicious. I love it with Butter Chicken.

This is so freaking good. I forgot to add in the extra butter at the end… It doesn’t need it! I’m kicking myself for never thinking to toast my rice in garlic before! I planned to use the leftovers for fried rice, guess what? no leftovers

Love the smell of garlic coming through! We paired it with the Chicken Tikka masala recipe on this site..What a combo.
For the tikka masala, those who don’t like a lot of spice you can leave out the spices for the sauces and it still comes out flavor full. Yum a keeper for sure
