- 2 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
Combine the blueberries, water, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla in a small-sized saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil; lower heat and gently simmer.
Stir in cornstarch slurry. Continue to simmer while stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to thicken and coats the back of a metal spoon.
